This program has been in continuous operation for almost 30 years in Three Rivers. It is a great way to be active, social, and contribute to the happiness of children and seniors.
No prior experience with sewing or quilting is necessary. Any necessary training is provided by the volunteers. There are multiple stations set up for different stages of quilt-making ranging form matching quilt-tops to the backing material (color/pattern match), through cutting out batting, sewing the parts together, trimming and turning, tacking, and even toy selection. Additional stations include sewing machine maintenance, delivery, and other administrative and organizational tasks.
Volunteers are always welcome!
Below is a sample of some of the children's quilts finished in prior years.
